What’s On in East London?

Transport For London (TfL) is making some  changes to aim the Vison Zero Target (2041) to reduce or eliminate deaths and injuries on East London’s road by reducing the speed limit to 20mph.

The East London Roads which are reducing there speed limit to 20mph includes A13 Commercial Road in Tower Hamlets, the A107 and in Hackney and the A10- A503 Corridor in Haringey.

The limitation of speed’s works will commence in next few weeks. Works on the A107 corridor, witch runs from Whitechapel to Hackney and includes Mare Street, are to be starting from March 7.

There is more to come to reach The Transport For London (TfL) goal to reach 124 miles of its roads by 2024. So far 50 miles of its network is limited to 20mph.

These areas in East London are among the five areas in London designed to be safest to cycle and walk in London. Transport For London (TfL) and The Mayor of London Sadik Khan encourage resident to take on cycling or walking.

In march 2020 13miles of London Road were added to  20 mph areas. 2022 to 2024 we will see network miles lowered to that speed.
